Reading

I love reading fiction books because they can transport you to a world where anything is possible. One of  my favourite books is Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix because it is descriptive, imaginative, and original. It takes place in the future where adults are only allowed to have two children. A third child (shadow child) must hide all his or her life. The really thrilling part is that it really could happen some day.  For Greater Knowledge by marklarson

One of my favourite parts about reading is not knowing what could come next. Anything could happen. A character could die, they could be captured, anything! Another thing I like about reading is that sometimes you are unable to stop — you have to find out what happens next. That always happens to me when I scoop up a book I really like.
What do you like most about reading? What are your favourite types of books? Do you prefer fiction or non-fiction?

Thank you marklarson for this spectacular image called For Greater Knowledge.

  1. Well said, Eric, I couldn’t agree more. Your image really sums it all up too. Can you guess I’m a teacher librarian? If you enjoy dystopic fiction you might also like the Triskelia series by Canadian author Carrie Mac. This is her website http://www.carriemac.com/droughtlanders.html Be sure to mouse over the images in the blog header.

This is chapter one of the first novel in the series, Droughtlanders

  3. Hi Lesley,
Thank you for the wonderful comment! I viewed the link you gave me to the first chapter of the book, and I’ll have to add it to the list of all the books I’d like to read!
